The confirmed, communing, and contributing members of St. Paul Lutheran Church - Startown elect the council members.  Their term begins in January following their election (normally done in October) and ends in December of the following year based on current bylaws.  Current council members are serving two-year terms.  In October 2001 the congregation voted to make changes to the bylaws in which council members would serve a three-year term but would not be required to chair a ministry.  The council meets once a month on the third Sunday at 7:00 PM in the church conference room.
